Aarons - Tv Stand Rental Review

I rented a tv through Aaron's and I could no longer afford to pay for it. I called them February 12th, 2016 & had a appointment for them to pick it up the 18th between 10-2, they did not show. I called them & said they had to speak to there manager & they would call me back, they never did. I called back that Monday the 22nd. They schedule another pick up for the first of march between 2-7. Again they did not show. I called them that evening at 5:00, they said someone would be out before 7. They never showed up. I called the next day the 2nd. They were extremely rude and hung up on me after they said they'd be there the next day the 3rd from 10-2, and wow again they didn't show up. So again I called I spoke to a manager and he said they would be here the 4th between 10-2. I will not be shocked if they do not pick it up. I am done trying to get them to pick it up. They can't change me for it if that's what they trying because I got a different card number. And the 12th of March will be 30 days from the time I told them to pick it up and if they don't the tv is mine. But I can promise you I will never and I mean never rent from this terrible company that doesn't seem to know how to do there job correctly again.

Broken TV | Aarons in Jackson, Mississippi

Good afternoon. My name is Donna Legg and my original account was in Gulfport, MS. I had to move to Shreveport last year due to the poor health of my mother. I rented a TV almost 2 years ago, in fact I have 2 payments left. My boys were watching a movie last Saturday and the TV totally cut off. The remote was checked, at the suggestion of your staff we were told to unplug the TV, wait 5 minutes, then plug the TV back up to reset it. Nothing. I have made numerous calls to the Gulfport (Pass Road) office and spoke with Keith who has tried to get this issue straightened out from his end. He tried to calling the Mansfield Rd (Shreveport) store numerous occasions and had difficulty talking to the GM. He left messages and was the calls never returned. Keith finally talked to someone Tuesday. Now it is a week later and I am sitting here waiting for someone from Mansfield Rd in Shreveport to come pick it up so that they can send it off and get it repaired. I am very unhappy. The one thing that Keith stated was that until the matter is resolved I do not have to make a payment. I had to borrow a TV from a friend to use because the Shreveport store will not give me a loner to use AND if I understand this correctly should the TV be irreparable I will have to go back to Gulfport to get another TV. REALLY??? All of this is SO wrong on all accounts. I had to go to the store on Mansfield Rd Wednesday and was told that someone would be out here after 4 to pick the TV up. They could not even call me and tell me this?? This is very poor customer service. I am not one to go around bad mouthing people or businesses but this is ridiculous. I can tell you that I will NEVER rent from y'all's company again. For the TV and stand I am paying $152/mo. A total of $3344. I know the cost of the TV is paid for already and I am just paying for the convenience of renting to own......and now I am dealing with this headache and it is still unresolved. I even asked since I am going through this situation if the last 2 payments could be written off and was told no. At any rate, this needs to be resolved immediately. I have somewhere to be at 5:30 and need to leave my home by 5:00. I called the Mansfield Rd store and advised them of this at 3:45 this afternoon. It is 5:00 and I just had to call the Mansfield Rd store again, because no one has shown up. The lady (Kiera?) put me on hold and got back on the phone and wanted to know if I would be here in the next 15 minutes. I told her I would wait 15 minutes.

Thats the same Aarons i use. in 2012 i became a customer and their CS has gone to the toilet.

Same thing here.. ordered electronics, said will be delivered and no show. called and they said it is an add on so i cant give a time.. will deliver next day..

still nothing but they added it to my account.. Rob is a piece of shiit.. hes pure evil..

i think this store will be belly up soon.. good riddance...

Aarons is even a more horrible company than this ... they are so unethical that they have management and leadership personnel who know nothing at all about ethics or the need to show ethical behavior toward their own employees let alone their customers ..

Sold us a piece of *** tv,stand blueray player that wont play blueray,computer that we took back 8 | Aarons in Muscatine, Iowa

we got a tv that had black spots all over it,a blueray player that didnt play blueray,a tv stand that has chips on it,a computer that had to be taken back 8 times befor we had to pay way more for a new one cause they couldnt fix it. now new computer messed up so we have a loaned that wont work most of the time. we bought all this stuff at the same time and i would advise people to super check everything u get before u buy from there or u will be screwed,all that money spent to put more money into it! i will never buy anything from aarons again, i think they are just running a big *** game and i fell for it!

we bought tv from aarons. we paid for 24 months, during that time it went out 3 times. now thats its paid off, 4 months now the tv went out again. called arrons got no help. we asked for new tv when it went out the 3rd time, they said no. we paid alot of money for it and we need help. we have bought alot from them and planned to buy more. where are they when you need help. the tv was to be new when we got it, now we find out it had been rented before. thanks.

I can relate to your situation. I used to manage an Aaron's store.

First off...if they told you it was new to begin with it should have been! There is no excuse to pass off a pre-leased item as new!

As to your related service issues with the TV. After two months of leasing an item and if that item experiences a cronic service issue, then it should have been exchanged for a item (TV in this case) with the some "book" value.

In other words if you tv was on lease for 10 mnths. when it experienced these issues then the Aarons store should have given you the option of exchanging it for a TV that had previously been leased for around 10 mnths.

Unfortunatly it is Aaron's policy that you have only 60 days from the last payment to get recieve any type of service on the TV. In your case with the TV having issues on 3 occasions previously I would have thought they would have made an exception.

I would contact the stores Regional Manager, or file a complaint at Shopaarons.com. :sigh

Don't lease from Aarons they are greedy and corrupt that's a fact I have dealth with too before and its so true! They're not worth it!

Don't waste your time! Or lease from landlords and managers at Univ ave east studios!

They're nothing but scam artists and crooks! No landlords are good I know or managers or repair men all are scams!

I have been a repeat customer over the last 4 years I have lived in Florida. While the products have not always been up to par, I had never really had issue with Aaron's until now. I had always made my payments monthly and always on time if not early. This last agreement I entered into a little over 2 months ago I had every intention of fulfilling. However, I have had recent unexpected physical(medical) expenses as well as losing part of my income(help with food as I am on disability). The only way i would be able to make ends meet and have enough food to live on for the month was to cut back. I was paid up to date as of 09/15/09 and had just one month left on the 3 month minimum agreement they use. I asked to be let out of contract due to extenuating circumstances and the manager Chris refused. I told them to please come pick up their items(entertainment center and 42" RCA tv) which cost $175 a month. They refused and said I would have to make that last payment before they would come and pick it up. How can you pay it if ypou no longer have the money to do so? They continually call over the last few days. I even told the manager himself and he reiterated that I would have to comply with the 3 month minimum contract. This morning yet again another call comes in , waking me up, asking when I would be in to make said payment. I informed the employee who called(Jenny) I had spoken with Mgr. day before etc. etc.and she said yes that's correct we won/can't pick up merchandise until you pay the third payment. I got very upset and said I can't afford it anymore I just don't have it now. Jenny then said" Well, then why did you enter into the agreement in the first place?" Instead of working with you they BULLY you or try to make you feel less than a human being just for falling on hard times! When she said that I will admit I got very angry and used some profanity(though not on her person directly). I said you tell him to come pick up this f%&*#$g stuff, I am not making another g$%%@&*%d payment! and I hung up. Not but a mere minute later Chris called my phone and I let the machine pick it up so itw would be recorded. He was very rude, belittled me and stressed at least 7 times that I was LEGALLY OBLIGATED TO Aaron's etc.etc. and that it was not his fault I over extended myself etc.etc. And that if I felt big by cursing his employee I should call him back and talk to him. He said if I cursed him he could assure me the conversation would be short! Also, he said he would not continue to make these calls to me. Yeah right! I try to do the right thing and be honest with them and return the stuff (in good condition ) and they refuse to pick it up!!! What more can someone do? I already emailed customer service I guess thru their website using the "contact us" link at top of the page. I am waiting to see what happens there first before I email Ken Butler and Mr. Loudermilk if neccessary....

Problem solved! At least to my satisfaction. Received call from Regional Mgr. named Tony(no last name given). Suffice it to say the entertainment center is gone like I originally wanted. I got to keep the tv like I originally wanted as well. This greatly reduced my payment as well.

If the Mgr at the store would have listened to my plight we could have worked this out amicably without having to go the CEO. I now have a payoff date of January 2011.

I hope my situation and subsequent resolution is able to help people form their own opinions and make their own decisions as to whether or not they wish to deal with Aaron's.

I know the stuff is overpriced. And that's fine because everyone has to make a buck. But when you have bad credit and a low income, lease to own is the best option.

I wish everyone well and good luck! My best advice is when you have a problem start at the TOP and email the CEO like I stated in above post.

having delt with aarons for years, i am very surpised at what i've read. given the nations situation and things beyon peoples control aarons was one company i felt would be more helpful.
