I have an account with Aarons and im completely miserable with them. I wish I would have never walked into that horrific scam store.

Come on one day late and they are calling asking what time can you come in. Well I will come in when i have the *** time.

I just cant believe all the things they dont tell you while your buying this ***. I think its robbery. You can get the same computer that they sell at Aarons somewhere else for like half the price that they would sell it for.

I also love how those s.o.b's will tell you this will be 500 bucks if you pay cash, but if you rent the price ends up being 3,000 bucks.

Monetary Loss: $1.

first off the deal is, and they do not hide it, you have 90 days to pay off the item at the cash price. If you go past the 90 day mark, then the financing charges are added.

They tell you this right up front ! Yes you can purchase items elsewhere for half the price, so why didn't you? If you finance the said item full term you are going to pay much more. Obviously you did not have the cash, or the credit to purchase this item elsewhere, and that is why you chose Aarons.

If not then that is your fault. That is why people shop around ! I have also purchased several items from Aarons and paid them off full term, and some with the 90 days same as cash program they have. This is for people that do not have the money and/or the credit to finance somewhere else.

You will pay drastically more for an item if you go to the lease's end, but that is up to you to decide if you want that item bad enough. Why are they S.O.B's ? They were very up front with me, and explained how things worked very well, so you must not have listened. You also have a contract to sign which put's out the rules in black and white, before you sign anything, so you must not have bothered to read a legal binding contract before signing it !

As far as the payments you can mail it, call it in, or pay online, and as long as you make your payments ON TIME they do not bother you. Obviously you do not make your payments on time or they wouldn't be calling you. One day is one day, you SIGNED A CONTRACT PERIOD ! You make your payments on or before the due date, NOT when you have the F^&%ing time, but you sit here and call them S.O.B's ?

It is laughable. You obviously do not make your payments on time, and have bad credit, and that is why you went through Aarons to begin with. And now you get an attitude when they call asking for the payment when you are late ? SERIOUSLY ????

seems you are the issue, not Aarons !

If you pay all your bills when you *** have the time, i'm surprised you have a roof over your head, or electricity, or hot water. You pay your bill's when they are do, not when you have the *** TIME !

Obviously if you are using Aarons or RAC, it is because your current financial status or credit are unfavorable...and they are probably unfavorable due to your lack of paying bills... So these companies are taking a huge risk giving you expensive products in hopes you pay on it...

Maybe if all your other creditors and banks dis the same thing when you were late on payments, you may be in a better situation.

So dont be upset because their prices are higher... Go try to buy one cash or get a loan (which i am sure you cant or you wouldnt be using this companies) and purchase the items at a dealer....

You'll pay them when "you have the time?" LOL?? It takes about 15 seconds to read your cc number over the phone. Sounds like someone who doesn't have the MONEY, not time lol.

Pay your bill

I have heard about the lawsuit against aarons concerning their supposed practice of spying on customers through the webcams in the computer.. what an infuriating violation of the customer's privacy!

They seem like shady folks definately to be avoided!

As for Rent-A-Center, I have been a customer in the past and I would like to say my experience with them was good. They were always polite, the merchandise I recieved was new if I asked for it new and not used. They have called me a few times since I finished up my last contract to offer me deals and to invite me back. I own a netbook and a refrigerator, and for a time I also made payments on a new acer aspire laptop.

Yes, I paid alot more for my items buying them from RAC, and no, the computers weren't bleeding edge technology, but it was new and un tampered with, and the higher cost and extended payments and phone calls to remind me my payment was due and "when will you be here?".. were part of the deal so I could have those items when my credit wasn't good enough or I didn't have enough money to walk into a retail outfit or online store and just buy it outright. as a consumer, it is a compromise we must make to get what we want, and you should know it's a buisiness and thats how they make money.. RAC worked with me too if I couldn't make it in on time or I needed a couple extra days..

I had a rapore with them though, I paid my bill and I didn't make them chase me down.. The folks at RAC were alot better than what I hear about Aarons, and if I needed something today that I couldn't afford outright, I know where I'd go to get it..

Great post. I had the same experience only in reverse.

I had the issues with RAC, and i did pay off several items with them also. I purchased a washer dryer set and they destroyed my floor, gouged big holes and scratched the *** out of it on delivery, then refused to fix it.

Aarons has been nothing but good to me, and i always put electrical tape over the camera on my laptop, Aarons is not the only one spying, the Government has admitted to it, and now Vizio and Sony have been caught doing the same thing with their smart TV's. It;s getting crazy NO privacy and constantly someone trying to spy on us in our own homes.

All Aarons stores are like this; if you are one minute late on your payment the goons come knocking at your door. I think they WANT you to get so angry that you finally say "Take the furniture, this isn't worth it" and you've been paying on it for months or years.

I think that's how they make their money.

Complete scam artists. Use bricks, boards for a table and beanbags for chairs before you get sucked into dealing with these creeps.

:( I bought two computers from Aaron's, one in 2008, and another as of 2009. I found out that Aaron's has a class action lawsuit against them because they install a software called PC Agent that they can use to spy on your computer, see your personal information and even intercept your webcam pictures or take pictures of you without your knowledge.

I have filed to become part of the lawsuit, but further more I was told by Aaron's that my warranty didn't start with my Dell until my computer is paid off. This is so untrue! My warranty was supposed to be good for three years and actually expired way before it was paid off. In addition, it was made out to Aaron's not me, so Dell wouldn't work with me on repairs.

Dell has the purchase date as almost 1 year prior to my actual initial purchase date (not the pay off date).

I feel lied to and swindled, and now am battling them on harassment over other products I got as well. That's a lot of money to pay out for an item you feel the need to return.

I agree that is BS with the warranty. The entire time you are making payments, Aarons is responsible for any and all repairs to the items you are renting.

Unless it is gross negligence on your part. I found sometimes you have to go over a store managers head, I did with RAC i was a customer for almost 15 years, i purchased a recliner and it had some bolts that broke and fell out. I asked them to fix it, and they asked if i ever slept in the chair. I said yes, I have fallen asleep in it they told me it was my fault it broke, it was not meant to be slept in.

Well one call to his District manager, and my chair was fixed.

When you are paying your hard earned money for an item, do not let them push you around ! If you get nowhere with the manager go over their head !

Took a lease on a Compaq laptop for 18 months at 111.00 per month including whatever fees for a NEW laptop, not a pre-used model. So, as the scene unfolds my computer begins malfunctioning. First it would stop charging, then it was overheating, then my drivers (even with updating) started popping off the computer, etc. I contacted the office and explained the situation. They told me to bring it in for servicing citing that it shouldn't take more than 4 weeks...

Because of my work I require a computer so they gave me a "loner". So I got this "loner" and still the same problems. No sincere worries, it was after all a "loner" and not MY computer. I kept in constant contact with the office to try figure when my computer was coming back.

THEY tell me that MY computer was "unfixable" by the technicians standard and that they would replace my computer with a NEW or COMPARABLE "UNUSED" model. At that point I had made almost 2 thousand dollars worth of payment for a 600 dollar computer. So I'm pissed now. I want my hard earned dollar's worth.

It's been 10 weeks, and my "loner" now has it's fan has busted causing the computer to crash, the charger isn't working, etc. They have now told me that the reason MY computer hasn't been "serviced" (even though they told me it was and was deemed "unserviceable") is due to the "computer guy" being let go from the shop. So now I am out a computer, 2000 dollars, and my "last payment" is next month. I was told I'd get a call back, but no calls this whole week. I am always told that the "manager" is unavailable and informed that "someone will contact you later on".

Bottom Line, Aaron's is a scam shop. I'm an unhappy customer and WILL NEVER use their services ever in the future. If YOU TRULY DESIRE AN ITEM SAVE THE MONEY EACH MONTH AND BUY IT OUTRIGHT. Save yourself some money, time and frustration.

If there are any HIGH officials of this organization who deal with this ***, I would appreciate some contact information. Otherwise I am forced to contact a lawyer and receive some legal advice, and contacting the Better Business Bureau and reporting this.

I am unhappy with Aarons too. I bought a Dell desk top, used but I thought is was slightly used.

OMG, it had been used a lot. Big problem is that Aarons did not take their name off as Administrator and gave me wrong directions on how to do it there fore I now have a completely corrupted computer because it did not recognize my name as Administrator so it would not accept the automatic security updates. Now my identity has been stolen and my computer is useless. Aarons lies and if you have a problem they do not give a rats ***.If you want to lease/buy someting then they are so helpful and friendly.

I am going into their store and blast them a good one tomorrow but I am sure it won't do any good but I will give it my best. Wish me luck!

hey-I recently got a dell laptop-from Aaron's...they seem to be in a panic because they delivered the laptop and a month later they relize that they never went over or had me sign the contract to pay! I'm I still legally responsible for paying for this?

In April I got a used pc from Aarons. This says it has 3g memory but with 3 cds and 2 pic and a couple word docs I'm all ready over 60% memory.

The pc came with vista home basic on it. It doesn't do what I was told it would do. When my first payment came due I went to the store I told them the problems I was having and I made my payment. I was told that the GM would call back 3 days later.

I can't burn back up disc btw and this pc was bought to for work. In the meantime I have contacted corporate and filed a complaint twice. But they can call me the day after my payment is due?! And then tell me that all the problems I'm having are out of their scope of support!

So I go to windows to get help they dont like my vista registration numbers. I'm waiting on Dell to send me the windows disk because the built in restore feature wont work. I imagine that that's what they did to supposedly clean the pc after the last guy. I have files on the pc from 2006 foward.

And I'm running 100% cpu with nothing running and nothing showing up in the task manager under programs. I'm pretty sure that if there are software issues and hardware issues during the term of the lease agreement they are responsible to fix the problem. NOT ME! Well quess what my 4 months is over July 15th..

they can come get the POS and I will go else where.

And I'm contacting an attorney for breech of contract and filing suit. I have missed 5 days of work due to the problems with this computer!

there is a separate recovery partition that comes on newer model computers.

newer model computers will not typically come with any disks.

if you use restore on disks that have recovery partitions it will overwrite the partition and then you will be forever stuck withhaving to use disks.

guys we are in a new age of computers... do some research.

operating systems come automatically on computers like the ones found at aarons..duh..

I bought a computer. laptop.

they told me they didn't have a new one in stock, but I can use the display "USED" model for the time being and my new one would be in two weeks. Well Two weeks later and I called. Nope they gave me a bunch of bullshi* excuses. I worked in collections.

I know how it works. If I don't get a new computer they won't get a dime from me.

For those defending Aaron's practice, just know installing buisness edition Vista is illegal for personal laptops and pc'S. To ask a customer to make a copy of Sony's vista restore disks is also illegal, this was asked, when we was informed that they did not have the restore disks, and we purchased them through Sony.

Everyone who goes to Aaron's does not do so because they can't pay their bills. If you purchase a pc or laptop on credit, you cannot opt to let it go back, if you do, your credit is affected. If you chose Aaron's and life has a bump, you can let it go back, credit still in good standing. Layoffs and the economy made for a decision to use AARON'S FOR LEASING/TO OWN?

a laptop, while going back to school. I am responsible, this is why I chose to use a lease/purchase program. As for Aaron's being shady, I have seent this first hand, I am an honest responsible indiviual, and in that AARON'S can deal with microsoft, kid you not, if I purchase an item, pay on time I expect them to uphold their responsibilites in taking care of their end of the deal.

When they chose not to do so, and then asked to make illegal copies(alot of nerve) I was insulted and shocked! So defend their actions, hopefully you are not affiliated with the store I bought my laPTOP, AND YOURS HAS LEAGL copies of Microsoft in your PC's, if not be prepared to deal with your honest customer's cokmplaints to Microsoft.
